2015 Infiniti Q70 HEV - Back-up Collision Intervention System (BCI) (if so equipped)

"The Back-up Collision Intervention System (BCI), if so equipped, uses radar sensors near the rear bumper to help alert the driver to approaching vehicles and sonar sensors to detect rear objects while backing up. If enabled, the system operates when the shift lever is in Reverse and the vehicle speed is less than approximately 5 miles-per-hour. If an approaching vehicle or rear object is detected, the system notifies the driver with one or more of the following: ● A warning chime, ● The Blind Spot Warning indicator light on the inside of either front door, and/or ● A flashing indicator on the AroundView Monitor. If necessary, the system applies brief braking pressure while the vehicle is moving backward. After the automatic brake application, the driver must continue to depress the brake pedal to maintain brake pressure. If the driver’s foot is on the accelerator pedal, the system will push the accelerator upward before applying the brake. If you continue to press the accelerator, the system will not engage the brakes. The BCI system turns on automatically when the engine is started. To temporarily turn off the BCI system, push the BCI switch on the instrument panel. The BCI OFF indicator light will illuminate in the instrument panel. The system will be re-activated the next time the shift lever is moved to the Reverse position. 2015 Infiniti Q70 HEV - Predictive Forward Collision Warning (if so equipped)

"The “Predictive Forward Collision Warning” system uses a sensor in the front of the vehicle to analyze the speed and distance to the vehicle directly ahead, as well as a vehicle traveling in front of that one. The predictive forward collision warning system operates at speeds above approximately 3 miles per hour. If a risk of a forward collision is detected, the system provides the first warning to the driver by flashing, the vehicle ahead detection indicator with an audible warning. In addition, the forward emergency braking system pushes the accelerator pedal up. If the driver releases the accelerator pedal, then the system applies partial braking. If the driver applies the brakes quickly and forcefully after the warning, and the system detects that there is still the possibility of a forward collision, the system automatically increases the braking force. If a forward collision is imminent and the driver does not take action, the system issues the second, visual and audible warning, and automatically applies harder braking. If the driver is handling the steering wheel, accelerating or braking the forward emergency braking system may not function. The automatic braking will cease under the following conditions: ● When the steering wheel is turned as far as necessary to avoid a collision. ● When the accelerator pedal is depressed. ● When there is no longer a vehicle detected ahead. ● If the forward emergency braking system has stopped the vehicle, the vehicle will remain at a standstill for approximately 2 seconds before the brakes are released. To override the system while driving, if necessary, press the accelerator pedal. When the system detects potential risks, the system gives an alert to encourage the driver to decelerate in advance, with a signal on the display, audible warning and also by tightening the seat belt. The predictive forward emergency warning system turns ON or OFF whenever the forward emergency braking system setting is turned ON or OFF. To turn the system ON or OFF: ● Press the SETTING button ● Press the DRIVER ASSISTANCE key, and then ● Press the FORWARD EMERGENCY BRAKING key to toggle the system ON or OFF The warning light illuminates when the system is turned OFF. The forward emergency braking system automatically turns back ON when the engine is restarted. When the radar sensor picks up interference from another radar source, making it impossible to detect a vehicle ahead, the predictive forward collision warning system automatically turns off. The forward emergency braking system warning light illuminates. Please see your Owner’s Manual for important safety information, system limitations and additional operating information. "

2015 Infiniti Q70 HEV - Forward Emergency Braking

"The system can assist the driver when there is a risk of a forward collision with the vehicle ahead in the traveling lane. The forward emergency braking system operates at speeds above approximately 3 miles per hour. The system uses a radar sensor installed in the front of the vehicle to detect the presence of vehicles ahead in the traveling lane. From the speed of the driver's own vehicle as well as the speed and distance to the other vehicles, it then determines if there is a risk of collision. If the system judges the possibility of a collision to be high, such as when the distance to the other vehicle is rapidly decreasing, the forward emergency braking system flashes the vehicle ahead detection indicator, provides an audible warning and pushes the accelerator pedal up. If the driver releases the accelerator pedal, then the forward emergency braking system applies partial braking. If the driver does not take action, the forward emergency braking system issues the second visual and audible warning, and applies harder braking. By doing this, it can either avoid the collision or reduce the damage caused by an unavoidable collision. This light illuminates when the forward emergency braking system is set to OFF on the center display. Please see your Owner’s Manual for important safety information, system limitations and additional operating information. "

To enable or disable the LDW system: ● Press the SETTING button ● Touch the DRIVER ASSISTANCE Key, and then ● Touch the DRIVER ASSISTANCE WARNINGS key, now ● Touch the LANE DEPARTURE WARNING key to toggle the lane Departure Warning system ON or OFF.
